Contains photographic prints, original hand colored illustrations, printed and ms. text for Peck's published work, a classic of anatomy for artists. Material illustrates bone and muscle structures; also a section on anatomy from birth to old age, on death, an orientation on racial anatomy and analysis of facial expression. Also contains: copy of a letter signed by Norman Rockwell recommending Peck; corrected proofs; correspondence, copies of correspondence, notes, etc., related to his book on anatomy and other projects; a ts. document entitled "Prospectus / A Film Series of Demonstrations on "Artistic Anatomy""; photo portraits of Stephen Rogers Peck.

He trained at the College of Fine Arts at Syracuse University, which had been founded by George Fisk Comfort, the founder of the Syracuse Museum of Fine Arts, an institution where Peck later exhibited. Peck was professionally active in New York and died in Florida. He also taught at the Pratt Institute.
